My work deals in different ways with the limitations of documentary and its flirtation and overlap with fiction
and narrative. I often explore the gestures and postures of youth in my work and the ways in which
performance and mimicry play out in the construction of identity and in the photographic image.
My most recent project, IDOL MIND, is a short film focussing on one of my photography student's experiences
after being convicted of a knife-crime. Using a canvas of moving stills, a portrait/story about processes
emerges: the process of photography, of making work, of growing up, and ultimately of finding redemption.
I am currently living and teaching in London, England, and working on the Cudworth Street Project.
